JUNIOR HUGUENOTS

The 2012-13 Seventh Grade Junior Huguenots (with Coach and NRBA Board Member Sean Oliver) are all smiles with the "hardware" received for winning the Championship of the entire Tri-Ciounty Basketball League!!

The Junior Huguenots is a competitive travel basketball program dedicated to developing the much-needed “feeder system" for New Rochelle High School’s teams.  In the Tri-County Basketball League (TCBL), our youth teams represent New Rochelle against the best from the towns and school districts that they will face as they approach the high school level.  Under Director Sean Oliver, the Junior Huguenots' coaches work closely with coaches of the school teams to insure that strong fundamentals are taught and reinforced.

Junior Huguenots' coaches are committed to working with good student athletes who love the game and will work hard to improve.  Attitude and being a good teammate is very important.  Young people interested in joining our program should show during tryouts that, if selected, they will be great teammates.  Once selected to participate in our program, all players are also expected to handle their school and family responsibilities.

We are committed to giving our youth the kind of experience, and exposing them to the competition, necessary to excell in our High School programs.  So, in addition to the TCBL, the Junior Huguenots play in competitive leagues and tournaments throughout the NY Metropolitan area. Pictured right is the 2012-13 8th Grade team after winning the Martin Luther King, Jr. Tournament this past February.  This team went on to the Finals of the TCBL.  Hats off to Coach Greg Pinn, his assistant Chris Johnson, and the boys for a great season!

The 2011-12 Junior Huguenots got to entertain the crowd at halftime of a Knick game at "The World's Most Famous Arena" -  Madison Square Garden!  And yes, the referee with his back to us in the photo below is none other than Varsity Assistant Coach, Rashiem Young.  The High School program is closely involved in everything we do.
